The Morrigan is an acoustic band that plays mostly traditional Irish music on traditional instruments, including fiddle, simple system wooden flute, concertina, Irish uilleann pipes, Northumbrian and Scottish small pipes, whistle, bodhran and piano ~ accompanied by more modern instruments that have been adopted into the Irish tradition such as guitar, mandolin and bouzouki. We also play tunes from other unique, but related Celtic traditions of Scotland, Brittany in France, and Galicia and Asturias in Spain. We play jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas, barndances, slides, waltzes and slow airs. And we sing a few ballads, too.

The Morrigan is the best multi-instrumental Irish trad band performing in the Philadelphia, PA and surrounding area ~ though we have played as far away as Ireland and The Czech Republic.
